This class is held at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center, for more information on this course click here: Needle Felting :: Witch PinAlleghany HighlandsOctober 6, 2013 Witches have lots of warts, so beginning needle-felters can often make the scariest ones—the more bumps the better! This dry felting method compresses wool fibers together through the use of a barbed needle. It can be used to form small sculpted figures, faces or objects for pins or other items. Students will learn basic needle felting techniques while making a witch pin. Samples can be seen at the Center. This technique entails the use of dry wool and special sharp barbed needles to draw the fibers together, creating a unique and imaginative art piece. Needle felting can be used to create sculptural objects and dimensional wall hangings. This class is held at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center, where Karen participates as a professional juried artisan.

You can make one in and afternoon and enjoy them through Thanksgiving—in fact it will last for years. Start from scratch—the more bumps the better!
